Tab lock washers bend one tab against the side of the mounting surface and the other tab against the flats on a bolt or nut to prevent both the fastener and washer from turning and loosening in high vibration applications such as a motor mount. The ears are bent up by the user to lock the nut in place. Teeth bite into the joint for a tighter grip than split lock washers. Tab lock washers are designed to prevent both the washer and the nut from rotating in an assembly.
